Today we’d like to introduce you to Christy Pacella.
Hi Christy, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I began by owning a vintage clothing shop in Laguna Beach. After some medical issues, I closed my shop and began an estate sale company in order to encourage sustainable shopping while helping families during a sometimes difficult time. Many of them have lost loved ones or are making big life changes and moving or selling their lifelong home.
I built Details Estate Sales Inc from a single estate sale. Fast forward a few years and we are now the number 1 estate sale company in Orange County helping some of the finest homes in the area.
We specialize in Jewelry and antiques. Our customer focus has mainly been with interior designers and resellers. Many of our customers sell on Instagram. We built a strong social media following that attends nearly every sale we do.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I started my company INSIDE of a pandemic. Navigating that time was rough but we succeeded.
We also have worked really hard to drive home the idea of NOT shopping at Amazon so educating the public about sustainability within shopping has been hard but well worth it.

We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
I had a small business in my garage in the fourth grade. After school, I would open the garage door and the kids would come buy stickers and erasers. I loved the idea of a small business. I looked forward to going and “opening shop” after school and seeing my “customers and friends.
