Daily Inspiration: Meet Alexis Branch

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alexis Branch.

Hi Alexis, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I started in the music industry when I was eight years old. I would do shows with my Dad who had a band by the name of After Hours Band. In 8th grade, I made a singing group by the name of BLISS. We started in VA and relocated to ATL, GA which ended up being a better place to pursue my dream as an entertainer. In 2016, I went solo and signed to super producer Stevie J. I was casted for Love & Hip-Hop season 6 but ultimately ended up making my television debut on VH1’s Leave it to Stevie. I went independent in 2017 and took a break in 2019 after going through life changes that started to affect my mental health. Today in 2021, I have a new single “Ooo Baby” that I released with Shane Foster and Chris Davis that landed on billboard top 100. We are also being considered for a Grammy Nomination.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
This industry is one of the toughest. You’ll hear 1 million “no’s” before you get to the “yes” that can change your life. The road has been everything BUT smooth, however it has shaped me into the best person I can be. It’s taught me that as long as you believe in yourself and keep your faith, nothing else really matters. You can have everything you want as long as you don’t give up.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am an all-around entertainer. I sing, dance, act. I also have a cartoon character by the name of Litty Lex. I’m proud that I’ve started exhausting all of my talents. I only did music for the better half of my career but started expanding to acting and creating which has opened so many doors for myself. My cartoon character went viral and landed me on BET to host the social media awards along with the red carpet grand opening for Tyler Perry.

In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
Everything is onward and upward. I will land a major film and/or TV series. Hopefully, I’ll be adding “Grammy nominated” in front of my name as well. I’m very optimistic and excited for my future.
