Check Out Nardos Endale’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nardos Endale.

Hi Nardos, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I got started in the entertainment industry in 2010 in Columbus, OH!

I was a freelance event photographer that stumbled onto the local music scene and fell in love with independent music and the movement! I would take photos and videos at events and post on my social media. Shortly after, I met with a group of artists who took me under their wing, and taught me how to make beats and eventually put me in the booth! From that point on, I was all the way in! I feel deeply in love with performing, writing, and producing!

After about a year, I was signed to Marathon Music based out of The Bronx, NYC. With them, I felt like a young Lauryn Hill in the Fugees. I had my music mentors and teammates and we used each other in the way that steel sharpens steel. It was a great learning experience and allowed me to sharpen the skills I needed to become a strong indie artist.

After some time, I created my own label and entertainment company, The Empire Ent., where I signed and managed over 13 artists over the span of seven years.

Currently, I am a consultant, songwriter, and of course still make music and beats! I have successfully managed and developed many artists from Columbus, Ohio, NYC, and ATL!

After almost ten years in the game, wearing many different hats, among other business endeavors, I am now working on a pop Afrobeat project, being as though I am Ethiopian / Eritrean, I wanted to take my music back to my roots and bridge the gap!

Dubbed the #StudioBAE I am a rare unicorn in this industry. Your favorites favorite! 🙂 Get familiar! Google me! and tell a friend! It’s only up from here!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has not been a smooth road! But nothing was impossible to overcome. I dealt with so many barriers and struggles along the way! My learning curve was quite longer than I would have liked it to be. I wasn’t too familiar with the industry and the shortcuts and life hacks that I could have taken advantage of, that would have saved me time and money. But after ten years in the game, I have learned priceless information that now, I can use to my advantage. You have to grow through things, so I don’t regret anything.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
The music that I make is based on my reality or the reality of those around me. I wouldn’t dare put myself in a box or try to categorize myself to any specific style or genre because I simply can’t. I am so diverse. My style and sound simply can’t be duplicated or fabricated.

I always have a mission, purpose, or statement in my music and visuals! I can go from super conscious to commercial pop, soulful to afrobeat. I can sing, or rap, or do spoken word. Also being an engineer and producer, my creative process is holistic. My versatility comes from my exposure to so many different cultures and styles of music and icons as a child.

One thing about my music, it’s therapeutic. For both myself and the listener.

What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
The most important lesson I’ve learned along my journey is to be patient with myself. I always tell artists to stay consistent and make a business plan for their success, to use it as a map to get from point A to point B. Great things that last forever take time to fully manifest! You have to believe in yourself more than anyone else, invest in yourself more than anyone else, and take the path of least resistance to your destination.
