Meet Jason Facey

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jason Facey.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I am a professional dancer \ actor\ artist and a business owner. I was born and raised in Jamaica. Jamaican culture is all about good vibes, dance music and entertainment. So I was influenced as a young child to be an entertainer. I wanted to be an actor and a dancer at a very young age. I then moved to the United States at 11 years old with my older brother. we came to the states for the American Dream. While I was in elementary and middle school, I taught myself how to breakdance, pop and lock as well as gymnastics. I was a very active kid. In middle school, I would join this after school program Called Break Dancing Shakespeare. This was an after school program where they incorporate dance and Shakespeare plays. This motivated me to really get into acting more. My freshman year of high school, I signed up to be a part of the first school play, A Rasin In The Sun. I was a little scared because at the time, I had huge speech impediment. So I tried out for the smallest role. However, my drama teacher thought I should understudy the main role of the play. There were so many lines. I studied every day as if my life depended on it. The guy who had the main role originally got kicked out and I took over the lead role. The night of the show I went on stage and found out something very interesting. I found out that whenever I am acting, I don’t have a stutter. That was all the confirmation I need to pursue acting more. Every year after that, I booked every main role in every I tried out for play.

Few years later, I went to Southern Connecticut State University where I graduated with a degree in communications with a concentration in film production. I also minored in acting. After I graduated college, I had an internship in Los Angeles to work on a film for the lifetime channel. That was my ticket out of Connecticut to pursue my dreams. My first year in Los Angeles was rough after the internship ended. But I would go to this club in North Hollywood every Thursday to Dance. And that leads me to my first dance job booking out here. I booked a dance role in Pharrell music video freedom. That job also lead me to be signed by my agency Bloc where I booked many dance jobs with artists such as Alicia keys, Pharell, Chris Brown, Daddy Yankee, Beyonce, Wizkid, Major Lazer, and Gwen Stefani. I was also on tour with Gwen Stefani for over two years. I also booked many commercial acting jobs as well and that was the start of my ongoing career in the film and entertainment industry.

I also started creating a lot of viral dance videos which brought my Instagram page to over 50k followers my TikTok to 270k followers and YouTube to over 30 k followers. I then created my own brand called I’m So F.A.C.E.Y which stands for Faithfully, Accomplishing, Challenges, Every, Year. I recently got into creating my own music over two years ago. I have three songs that have been released on all major music platforms. Rock and Dip, Walk and Whine, and Phuckery.

I’m excited to see where my acting career and my dance career will take me next.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Moving to new place with no family was a huge challenge, but my faith and belief in a God kept me and course which lead me to many success. I remember my car got repoed, I lost my job, ruined my credit. But even with all those struggles, I knew I was supposed to be here.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
