Hi Raul, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
When I graduated with an MBA from CSULA, having always had an entrepreneurial spirit, I founded a small business consulting company, and I was doing ok doing what I liked. I was fulfilled, or so I believed.
One day I went to visit my mom, single mother, in a small town, she was preparing supper and she asked, “what do you do as a job in Los Angeles?” I responded, I do business consulting. She then said, in simple terms I can understand, what do you do, like when you wake up and start working what do you do?. I tried to simplify the complexity of the many things that business consulting included and said “I help business owners grow and make money” after a minute of silence while covering some cooking pots, she said: maybe one day you should also help yourself. Wow. What a lesson! Did not learn that in college for sure.
When I returned, I could not stop thinking of ideas to do good and do well.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Not easy for sure, but not impossible. When you move in the “correct” path with values, ethics, and an open mind, things seem to fall in place. At the end of the day, we should not take our dreams to the grave…
