Today we’d like to introduce you to Chelle Worthy.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
2010 – Retired from Denver Motor Vehicle 2012 – Applied for DMV Occupational License & Satzfyd Title Services (Sole Prop)

2013 – Worked with CA rental car agency in LA to ‘learn’ CA titles & registration

2014 to 2017 – Promoted to Commercial Lending company in Rancho Cucamonga creating an in house title application department while continuing to build Satzfyd Titles on the side

2017 to 2018 – Left CLC to work on my own and incorporated to Satzfyd Registration Services

2019 – 1st successful year as vendor for 2 Colorado refinance marketers & 1 NY title service

2020 – Survived COVID with increase in refinancing for motor vehicles & hired two more employees

2021 – Continued growth acquiring a 4th refinance marketer from Colorado and NJ Corvette dealership

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The road has not been smooth but our success has been all about timing. Initially, as a sole proprietor, I had to figure how my registration service would stand out against the other over 2500 licensed DMV services in the state. My realization was how I stood out in general…being from out of state and my ties to Colorado. My niche would become assisting out of state lenders and dealerships with California residential customers.

In 2020, when COVID struck, closing down DMV offices nationwide, SRS Inc had access to eFile services since 2013. With limited services and a weekly DMV appointment, we were able to provide our out of state customers with title transfer service with basic access. Other assistance like SBA & PPP loans helped the business pay new employees as business began to gradually grow.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
SRS Inc was established as an operational service for refinance marketers, loan companies and out of state dealerships. California has the largest motor vehicle sales and refinance market due to its size and economic status making it a prime target for business. However, the service may be digital and electronic but bottom line is, title transfers cannot be completed without DMV’s participation.

With over 30 years of DMV title experience, I have taught workers the importance of how to complete DMV applications with the least amount of error for a DMV agent to reject and delay the transfer. Our clients are usually competitors in the industry but our services are instrumental for their survival in California.

Our most proud moment was surviving 2020 and growing…we increased our staff, moved to a larger office, our client’s businesses grew and we’ve sustained and perfected our products.

Although most of our products are finance-based, we would like to let the public know that when they go out of state to purchase a vehicle, they should give the dealership our information to assist with the application process. Purchasing out of state involves challenges that Californians don’t anticipate because purchasing a car in this state is such a one stop shop process, it is expected and that is far from the case. Every state has a separate process so when you want to be strategic in your buying experience, you need a DMV specialist to help.

So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
I have always had a vision with this company. To assist with the DMV process without feeling you are going to the DMV. I love working with our clients, helping their business grow and being a part of a bigger success. The need for our service is growing by the month and watching the timeline with consistent growth is the joy and truth of entrepreneurship in America. As a woman of color, to succeed in a business so abnormal and unheard of makes it all feel so magical and prophetic.
