Daily Inspiration: Meet Liz Lomeli

Today we’d like to introduce you to Liz Lomeli.

Hi Liz, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I started doing nails after I got my cosmetology license in 2008. My main goal was hair but I realized it wasn’t for me, so my plan was to learn and do nails while I figured out what I wanted to do. Once I started nails, I became obsessed. Back in those days, I wasn’t as adventurous with product and art but eventually found my way after working for some cool nail salons in Los Angeles. It was a scary start, as I was very young and not confident in my work but I’ve been lucky to work with other amazing artists who I learned so much from and who have really motivated me, not only to strengthen my skills but to also love my own work! I’ve put in a lot of time, effort and love into this craft. It’s been fun to see myself grow and it’s been amazing creating special friendships with clients and colleagues!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Where’s the fun in a smooth road? Ha! The biggest struggle for me was trusting the process of learning and growing. When you have a client that’s facing you and watching you work, specially when you are not very experienced is so stressful! It feels like all of your mistakes are under a microscope, and it’s difficult to believe that you can do it all over again. But then you realize that you can and you do! All of those awkward interactions pay off in time and prepare you for even the toughest client or situation.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I really love creating fun designs with gel polish and that’s mainly what I specialize in. I used to be so intimidated by nail art that now that I’m confident in my work, I like to feel challenged by trying out a new technique or a new product! I’m very proud of the quality of my work, and I like everything I create to bring out a positive reaction from my client, a follower, everyone!

So, before we go, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you? How can they support you?
The best way for anyone to support me is really to check out my work online and go from there. I am always excited to collaborate with brands, clients, followers. Receiving likes or comments on photos of my work is such a compliment! It feels great to have those interactions with real people who like the work I do, It’s like an online hug, so thank you!
