Conversations with Julia Jolie Goodman

Today we’d like to introduce you to Julia Jolie Goodman.

Hi Julia, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I was born in Russia and raised in Germany. 15 years ago, I came here for vacation and never looked back. 🙂 It was a hard time at the beginning, without any family or business connections but I believe, if you really want something, just go for it and it will work out somehow!

I have all kinds of businesses: from real estate to social media and my own skincare brand.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Definitely lots of challenges. I am self-taught in regards to Business… nobody told me what to do so I had to figure it out for myself. And I obviously made a lot of mistakes down the road… Also, how people handle business here is much more different than in Europe… Germany has many rules and bureaucracy and you have to plan anything and everything… Here in the US, you have to be a go- getter and think outside the line if you want to achieve something, so that was a learning curve as well…

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m known for my social channels @therealjuliajolie, my skincare brand Malibu Organics and of course, my work as a luxury real estate agent… what sets me apart? Well, you be the judge, but people say I’m funny, very honest and I know what I want… I’m definitely most proud of my skincare brand Malibu Organics… we just launched six months ago… I poured my heart and soul into this because I wanted to create something organic and clean… that actually brings results… I don’t believe in putting chemicals onto my skin… and many organic companies advertise that they are organic and clean but if you actually look at the ingredients list, they’re not… So I created a skincare brand that for myself and I figured, why not share it with the world!

Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
I don’t believe in luck, only in persistence… nothing in my life has ever been easy, I always had to fight for it… luck comes to those that fight for it…
