Hidden Gems: Meet Natela Shenon of Alpert Barr and Grant formerly Shenon Law

Today we’d like to introduce you to Natela Shenon.

Hi Natela, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I was born and raised in Ukraine. My family moved to the States when I was 11. I didn’t speak a word of English. We moved back and forth twice more until we finally settled here for good when I was 15. I went to UCLA for undergrad and majored in psychology. I considered becoming a therapist. I decided against it and went to Pepperdine Law where I received a JD and concurrently a Master of Dispute Resolution. I become a litigator out of law school but several years later transitioned to corporate work. I started my own practice three years ago and this April merged with another firm. We now have a staff of 20 and provide a full spectrum of business legal services…

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It’s never a smooth road. Whoever says otherwise is lying. Any growth involves some kind of a struggle. Every step of the way, I struggled with learning something new, assessing the situation properly, figuring out which risks were worthwhile.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Alpert Barr and Grant formerly Shenon Law?
We are a hub for small to midsize businesses and entrepreneurs for all their business legal needs. We offer a full spectrum of business legal services from simple to very complex. We are unique in that we get to know our clients very well and their objectives and every time they have a legal issue we act fast because we already know what they are after in the grand scheme of things. I personally consider myself to be both a legal and a business strategist. I often consult in both helping clients navigate conflict within their business as well as help them negotiate deals to facilitate growth.

Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
I love to cook and sometimes daydream about opening a little restaurant as a side hustle. 🙂
