Hidden Gems: Meet Gabriela Toro of The Blissful Step

Today we’d like to introduce you to Gabriela Toro.

Hi Gabriela, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I moved to the states from Venezuela in 2011 escaping the dictatorship my country is still currently suffering from. But it wasn’t until 2017 when I actually did the work to become the architect of my reality.

It was a rainy day in California and I had to commute over an hour to work. At the time, I was a veterinary technician my schedule consisted of the same routine everyday… go into the clinic before sunrise and leave after sunset. I felt like all I never saw the sun! And as hard I worked, somehow, I was still empty.

It wasn’t until I took a step back and started analyzing my routine that I realized on any given day I was spending SO MUCH time in the car + at work.. 15 hours to be exact.

At that moment, I finally realized how my life was feeling to me… hypocritical. I was doing a job medicating animals with western medicine when I was thriving off of eastern medicine. I was putting my opportunity for a “better life” on pause by doing work I didn’t feel call to motivated or called to… I was settling for a paycheck went I wanted to step into my purpose.

I was 23, EXHAUSTED, unmotivated, underpaid, and unhappy. So that day I decided… I was NOT spending another 15 of my day hours feeling that way… ever again.

That year, I got my health coaching certificate, graduated with six paying clients, quit my veterinary technician job, started dancing again, lost 10 lbs, gained mental clarity and energy, and reintroduced happiness into my life.

*I called this year the year I took the blissful step. The name of my brand*

I stepped into fear, the unknown, self-discovery, and most importantly BLISS.

I went back and took note of EVERYTHING that worked and didn’t work. Gathered information from events, mentorship, collaborations, social media stats, clients’ and bank statements.

I immediately took action and up-leveled my business, mindset, spirituality, health, and community. I became an accredited coach & mentor to thousands. And I never looked back!

Today, I’m the Creator and Founder of The Blissful Step, where I travel the world full-time while teaching & coaching committed yet underpaid aspiring entrepreneurs how to effectively profit their passion while making bliss their norm. IN BOTH ENGLISH AND SPANISH! And I’m loving every minute.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I have always been gifted with a very positive, uplifting and solution-based mind. However, hardships have been inevitably there. From culture shock moving to the states at 18 years old to failed business ideas.

One particular hardship that I do want to mention was letting go of the mindset and physical blocks when becoming a minimalist nomad. A year and a half after I started my online business, I found myself in Hawaii with a friend and realized I didn’t want to “come back home”. Coming back to Vegas, an about to be signed apartment lease, a five years stagnant relationship, two animals and society’s pressure of living a successful life.

So after much thinking, in a week, I parted ways from my ex-partner, sold all of my physical belongings and bought a flight to Miami with only my laptop and a carry-on suitcase.

I was judged, shamed, questioned… but it was the BEST FEELING EVER. I haven’t looked back. It was certainly the catalyst to my current bliss.

As you know, we’re big fans of The Blissful Step. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Before becoming a Career Coach, my background as a Certified Health Coach and Fitness Instructor helped me study the online coaching/ service-based industry thoroughly to craft my methodology for taking ideas 100% online.

Now, through The Blissful Step Coaching Services, I teach the same strategies that I used to build, launch, and scale my online business to help others do the same!

With more than four years of online experience, I have helped 60+ of aspiring entrepreneurs from all over the globe transform their passions into full-time profitable online careers through my signature, nine days Jumpstart your Business Course, JBC for short!

JBC is now an international family of holistic healers, brand strategists, content creators, freelancers and coaches. This community enabled me to further expand my services into the Beyond Bliss Membership to continue to support these creators.

The membership is my intimate, personalized, and ongoing group coaching program where they learn how to establish an unshakable business infrastructure while always prioritizing their own mental and physical wellness incorporating digital minimalism.

Long story short: My brand and business stand out because of its PERSONALIZED touch incorporating digital culture, wellness and minimalism into the online world.

What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
Before I go on on this topic, I want to make a clear disclaimer that what I’m about to state is based on my own research and experience in the industry. All of the content is subjective!

The International Coach Federation places the number of people working as coaches worldwide at 53,000, and demand only keeps growing. Some experts predict that coaching will grow at a rate of 6.7% through the year 2022.

This is a double edge sword in my opinion! I’ll explain it like this:

The bad news: The coaching industry has little to no regulation at the moment, which enables fake gurus to profit from faking a lifestyle and guaranteeing empty promises. Specifically, the “making entrepreneurs better” industry (business mentors, social media strategy, content creators, copywriters, etc.)

In my coaching experience, I have stumbled upon a lot of coaches and service-based business that are not really providing a legitimate offer…It’s the IDENTITY of an entrepreneur that they want to achieve. The ultimate goal in entrepreneurship is for you to develop a CAREER and actual JOB.. yet what we’re seeing is people developing IDENTITIES. Going from self-development course to self-development course, buying all the books, selling ideas yet making little to no difference in society.

The good news: The more coaches and online services, the more opportunity to gain the help and healing the world needs. Coaches specializing in niches will see more employment opportunities on average than coaches who don’t specialize on a particular type of experience/people. This upcoming trend reinforces the service’s brand value, brilliance and uniqueness which is GREAT!
