Check Out Terrell Williams’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Terrell Williams.

Hi Terrell, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Started with an interest in djing in my senior year in high school in Long Island, NY right before turning 18. Received my first pair of turntables around the same time. Was presented an opportunity to attend Scratch DJ Academy in Los Angeles. Made the move, attended every course Scratch had to offer at the time. Shortly became a teacher’s assistant at Scratch and through practice & networking, I was able to grow and spin all kinds of events thru out the years. Clubs, private & corporate events, radio, cruise ships, etc. I’ve been able to make djing my main source of income & been loving it the entire way.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
No, it definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. I had to deal with all kinds of obstacles, one would be having to adapt to a new city and how people move in said city. Not having parents & only having my older sister as a support system. Also dealing with my own self-doubt.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a dj. I also do music production. I’m well known for my djing, bringing energy & a certain vibe to any atmosphere. I’m most proud that I’ve been able to make a living doing something I’m passionate about & work with some extremely talented people. Because I was born & raised in NY and grew up with a family that was heavily in music & established myself as a dj in LA, I’m able to bring the best of each coast to my style of djing.

Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
Books like “The Four Agreements” & “Conversations With God” really bought a whole new perspective to life for me.
