Daily Inspiration: Meet Cameron Reed

Today we’d like to introduce you to Cameron Reed.

Hi Cameron, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Also know as Camsvisualart. I am a fashion photographer from Houston, Texas, transitioning to Los Angeles. I am going to be based near downtown and traveling to other parts of course throughout. I first went out to LA in 2018. I fell in love with the atmosphere and the city. The scenery can’t be compared to anywhere in the United States. Since I was little, I have always loved fashion in one aspect or another. Whether it be shoes, pants, or jackets. I always wanted to look good. As I grew older, I started to get more serious into fashion and take pictures as well. Eventually, I decided to blend the two and become a fashion photographer. Two of my most favorite passions. During my first time in LA, I thought that if I could bring the fashion from the east coast and shoot them here on the west coast, over time I could become a major outlet for fashion to come to back LA. Los Angeles has so much potential to host high fashion. It just takes more people to make things shake, and I believe I can be that difference maker.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It’s been hard traveling right now with covid. As I said previously, I’m transitioning to Los Angeles from Houston. There is still things I need to finish up in Houston. Also, LA is super pricey. You have to have your money right if you want to stay out there long term.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m an African American fashion photographer. I shot an editorial for Christian Dior at 19 years old. I have also had many publishings of my work in magazines and articles. The most thing I’m proud of is getting to work my creative outlet full time at 20 years old.

What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
I love everything about this city. The food, the atmosphere, the creativity, the creative scene, the city itself, and the people.

The only thing I dislike is the people as well. You have to watch your back here and know who you can and can’t trust. A lot of fake faces out here.
