Today we’d like to introduce you to Kaitlin Flynn.
Hi Kaitlin, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Born and raised in the Midwest, I started off as a closet cannabis user, slowly connecting with other moms like me. Upon moving to a recreational cannabis-use state, Washington, I wanted to find a way to help moms and people alike who wanted to learn more about cannabis and help break the stigma around its use- so I created the Pot Moms Podcast just before my 33rd birthday.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Putting myself out there was uncomfortable. My extended family views vary along the line of acceptance, so I would say looking at my own confidence in the message I was trying to deliver to break down the stigmas associated with moms who smoke weed and are looking outside of traditional medicine and routine to feel good helped me to address my own insecurities about the topic wasn’t always easy, but worth it in the end.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Pot Moms Podcast?
The Pot Moms Podcast is a weekly Podcast aimed to break the stigma, boost the education, and build a community around cannabis use. I talk about all topics weed related and sprinkle in personal experience and some objectively hilarious puns. We just want to make people feel ok talking about their journey and learning about cannabis. Recently, we started to partner with local brands to review strains for our monthly “Strain Name Game” featured our very own listeners. If you’re interested in participating- send us an email! PotMomsPodcast@gmail.com.
We’ve got listeners that span six continents, with high concentrations in LA and Seattle, we frequently go back and forth between the two cities to interview interesting people, explore cannabis experiences, and support our community with cutting-edge information.
But I’m also here to let people know that they aren’t alone. Having to hide a version of yourself that you think might be unappealing to people you love or complete strangers makes you lose a part of who you are. Pot Moms Podcast helps you reclaim that.
So, before we go, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you? How can they support you?
If you’re a brand looking to support our cause – please reach out. We’d love to share information and create an experience with your brand.
