Today we’d like to introduce you to Jhonuelle (JMYTH) Hollins.
Hi Jhonuelle (JMYTH), so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I come from a very musical family, started playing drums (pre-kindergarten)for my family and church…I won the Louis Armstrong jazz award as a freshman in high school. Started producing on my brother’s keyboard sequencers ended up mastering the Korg Triton and produced multiple hits for artists such as Milton Hollins Dejur, In-q, Jeff Jericho(Cairo), Noah King, Billy Racxx & Lil Gotit to name a few…
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
My father passing away was a big struggle for me and my family as well as several aunts and uncle’s passing caused a struggle with fighting depression and everything that comes with it…
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
Being a Drummer and a Producer simultaneously is awesome because they help one another when I’m creating…I have a producer’s mindset while playing drums and vice versa when I’m producing…I pride myself on being unique and having my own signature sound in as many genre’s possible…What sets me apart from others is that I’m a 1 of 1 sonically and I’m still humble enough to keep trying new things and staying creative.
Who else deserves credit in your story?
My entire family gets a lot of credit especially my big brother Milton Hollins Jr!!! He was writing songs, producing, dressing fly and wearing cologne since I was born…lol…I also give a lot of credit to my fellow producer/friend DeUno. We both came up making beats and holding each other accountable to heat…Will Lott is a brother crazy on Keys and mentally on another planet…Marcy Kenon for believing in me and understanding what I do early on…I have to shout out PRODUCERGRIND for such a dope platform where producers and artists can network and interact…They’re definitely trailblazing over there.
