Rising Stars: Meet Teresa Terry

Today we’d like to introduce you to Teresa Terry.

Hi Teresa, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
There was a journey getting to where I am today. I moved to Mobile, Alabama back in 2005 trying to pursue my college career. Due to circumstances, I wasn’t able to finish, but I did start a career in child care. I worked on childcare for 15 years and worked very close to my Administrator. I learned a lot about running a business. I left there and stepped out on faith. I have not looked back since. I am now the owner of Jornae’s Designs, LLC.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
No, being a business owner starting from the ground up. I have had customer to damage/steal my merchandise. I used my own money to purchase this merchandise because I had to start from somewhere. It gets frustrating, but we have come too far to give up now.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am an event planner/decorator. We have been in business since 2017. We are proud to come from basic party to luxury events, such as weddings/receptions.

Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs or other resources you think our readers should check out?
I read “The Secret” book when I was about 19. This is basically a book about the Law of Attraction. This book has helped me understand that thoughts are reality.
