Today we’d like to introduce you to Elizaveta Dirat.
Hi Elizaveta, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My journey has started from the time I came to Los Angeles from Moscow. I always loved doing photography, but I`ve never thought to connect my life with it. I took film business classes at UCLA Extension and I planned to work for the film company after. But my life had changed when I decided to buy me a camera and just take photos of everything I like. During the time when I was taking photos, I found out that I love working with people the most. I asked my friends to take photos with me and I learned the basics with them. It turned out that I wanted to take more photos with new people and I started to do collaborations.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
My youth and inexperience fostered feelings of inadequacy and made it difficult at first to imagine getting in a seasoned industry. It was always easier for me to help others see their potential and brighter side to situations than it was for me to do it for myself. I do believe that the more I practiced my newfound craft and was willing to hear let myself be vulnerable by putting it out there, the more I started to believe for myself that it could indeed happen.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I do creative photoshoots and videoshoots. Currently, I am collaborating with bloggers and continuing to grow my Instagram following as well as how these tools work.
We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
The most difficult part is taking the first plunge. I was hesitant to contact a popular LA Blogger for fear that she wouldn’t be receptive to my inquiry. To my surprise, she agreed to collaborate with me on a photoshoot.
