Meet Sasha Goldenberger of Gold Salon and Boutique in Long Beach

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sasha Goldenberger.

Sasha, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I originated from Washington, where I started in fashion design. Moving to LA in ’04 to obtained a degree in Visual Communications from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising and now a current resident of Long Beach, CA. After a few years of merchandising, visuals, and wardrobe styling I found my new passion for hair styling. Now a licensed Cosmetologist and two years ago this last February I open private studio and boutique. Specializing in cruelty free, USA made, paraben free, sulfate free, organic and handmade beauty products.

Has it been a smooth road?
Life’s never smooth, but the bumps are part of the journey. Being a small business owner is no small task. It’s non-stop, having to work before work and after work and on days off. BUT I wouldn’t change it!

We’d love to hear more about your business.
I do haircuts, color, and make up applications in my shop. I also freelance hair and make-up styling for photoshoots and weddings. When I get the chance I opt in for my organic, formaldehyde free, farm to chair hair color. Also using USA made, cruelty free, paraben free, and sulfate free products always.

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Long Beach has made big changes since I’ve been a business owner here and in opinion for the better. They seem to have stream lined the process. They have a new business owner website/portal with a check list. That would’ve saved me a lot of trips to the city to wait for HOURS (it’s like going to the DMV) and get lots of eye rolls, because who knows what they are doing for a first time business owner?
