Today we’d like to introduce you to Jesse Harrison.
Jesse was educated in Chicago and began his career marketing for an international apparel firm. Driven by design and aesthetics, Jesse later transitioned to a position at the Atlanta Decorative Arts Center where he specialized in marketing fine art.
Ultimately, he became the director of one of Atlanta’s premier contemporary art galleries. He later co-founded a real estate based company that brands, markets and manages luxury properties for special events, print media and major film and television productions.
Jesse joined Harrison Design’s Beverly Hills office in 2010. He currently serves on the board and as treasurer for the Institute of Classical Architecture & Art, Southern California Chapter. Jesse is also an active member of the Los Angeles Conservancy Development Committee and is a founding member of UNICEF NextGen Los Angeles.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Moving to Los Angeles and building a new business in a market that is highly competitive has been a welcome challenge. Another exciting challenge is maintaining relationships in this fast-paced market, where people have very short attention spans.
We’d love to hear more about your business.
Successful design should be informed by the past, but must be of its own place and time. For more than twenty-five years, this guiding philosophy has been a touchstone for Harrison Design’s continued success. From offices in Los Angeles and Santa Barbara, we offer a complete range of services including site planning, architectural design, interior design and construction administration and management. Each project is a singular work of art that responds to the benefits and challenges of its location, incorporates the classical ideals of form and human scale, and enhances the lifestyle of our client.
Harrison Design has an unparalleled reputation for excellence in design, responsiveness to clients and flawless project execution. Our portfolio of high-end residential and specialty commercial projects spans throughout Southern California, including the Westside of Los Angeles, Santa Barbara and Montecito, and the coastal communities of Orange County.
What were you like growing up?
Honestly, I was a huge pain in the ass for my parents and teachers. I was creative, manipulative, and could convince anyone to do anything. It turns out these traits became highly beneficial in my career. Manipulation changed into learning how to persuade people into making good decisions about their home. I always loved architecture and design. As a child, my mom and I would drive up and down the city critiquing houses.
