Today we’d like to introduce you to Lili Lile.
Lili, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I was diagnosed with renal failure in 2011 and since then have turned pain into power. Taking matters into my own hands, I not only improved my health and well being with the power of fitness and nutrition, but I am becoming a voice for dialysis patients who have been left in the dark in one of the biggest epidemics our nation faces.
My purpose is to bring light and education on the matter and be able to change the dialysis industry in order to provide the best quality of care for patients. Proposition 23 on California’s ballot has the ability to start the process on providing better care. Please be sure to vote yes
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Living with a chronic illness was already a challenge in itself but facing a kidney battle in the midst of a global pandemic with a bill on this elections ballots that can benefit patients has proven to be the most challenging and difficult thing to deal with. I’ve had to isolate myself completely in order to prevent catching this deadly virus on top of a silent illness but still try and get the truth out as to why you must vote YES on 23.
We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
I think what makes me stand out is the fact that I don’t let a chronic illness hold me back from making my dreams come true. I don’t necessarily sell product but I do inspire folks, well and ill, to live life as fully and presently as possible. We are not promised tomorrow, so what are you going to do today that will make you happy? In my case, it is to stay connected and creative. I love inspiring people to reach for the stars no matter the circumstances.
What were you like growing up?
Growing up, I was very active and very connected to nature. Played outside from sunrise to sundown and my most fondest memories are cooking with my family. My Mexican heritage is a huge influence in my PlantBased cooking. And Mother Nature is my biggest provider of fresh ingredients.
