Today we’d like to introduce you to Andrea and Gladys Romero.

Andrea and Gladys, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
We started in 2016 selling accessories from home & online and doing pop up events, as the years went by we decided to add lashes to our accessories. Once we started with lashes, it was like a door opening to the beauty industry. Our lashes were featured in different stores in the LA area then we added more cosmetics to our line and decided to discontinue the accessories to focus more on the cosmetic side. In 2020, we started a sister company gg apparel by drea which focuses on apparel for all body types and waist trainers. In August of 2020, we started Gladglam makeup academy. Our goal at Gladglam Makeup Academy is not only to teach to become certified artists but also to help others grow and become their own boss.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
One of the biggest obstacles we faced as being small business owners is the support from those immediate to you, once your business starts growing more and more those who you once thought were close to you suddenly leave you, there are times when that affects you emotionally because you are working on fulfilling your dreams and the support is no longer there. One of the biggest challenges we have faced in being in the business for four years is trusting people too soon, not everyone’s intentions are pure also when you are at your lowest, never tell anyone your problems because people will use it for their advantage and you really have to learn to have thick skin and put no emotions in the business and just push forward. That may be the reason why many people fail they make decisions out of emotions you always have to re-visit your why and remember why you started and most importantly celebrate each victory.

Gladglam is an online business of lashes, lipsticks lash glue, we specialize in bringing you high-quality lashes at an affordable price, now available in a few different stores also available at Gladglam Makeup Academy. What makes us different than any other business even tho we are in an industry where everyone may be selling the same thing, our quality is not the same and most importantly our Customer Service. We are most proud of our growth sometimes we have to go back and see our pictures of how far we have come when you are working in what you love, sometimes you don’t realize how far you’ve come until you re-visit the past and the accomplishments.

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I would say with the people we met along the way in the past four years, many are still in our life others aren’t but they made the difference with linking you with someone and that’s how you get connected; it is really all about networking. All it takes is that one person to believe in you and give you the exposure you needed, to get to the other level.
