Meet Colin Wood of Coleurs

Today we’d like to introduce you to Colin Wood.

Colin, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I started this project when I was 25 years old in College. I wanted to make music in my free time and I always had a passion for it, from playing in other bands. I released my first album about a year after writing it and it felt like a path I wanted to continue on.

Has it been a smooth road?
It has definitely not been a smooth road but it’s been a fulfilling road, through music I have met some amazing people. There are plenty of talented songwriters out there, I’ve met a handful, and it’s been a very great experience.

Can you give our readers some background on your music?
I specialize in music as well as consulting with musicians outside of writing. I’m mainly known for the music I write that is probably the first thing you would find if you were to look me up. I’m most proud of taking risks and not being afraid to reach out to people whether big or small. Life isn’t a straight and narrow path and it is good to be open-minded and have an open heart. I’d say you would have to meet me to understand what makes me my own unique person.

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
I see my industry being stable there maybe some changes momentarily. People will always need music, it helps us to escape the issues we deal with in the world. I think art give people substance in their life its eclectic, free, and eye-opening. It’s as much for us the artist as it is for you the listener.
