Meet Justin Hornick of Los Angeles Video Transfer in Pasadena

Today we’d like to introduce you to Justin Hornick.

Justin, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
We started our business in 2006 as part of our video production operations because we were receiving customer inquiries about helping to digitize and handle the personal archives of photos, video, and audio recordings from family members.

While we were only operating as a production company, developing videos for use on websites and at events, we decided to use our skillset to help these people who were looking to convert their old materials to something modern and useful for safekeeping.

We felt that we had the expertise to handle their materials in a professional way with professional equipment from our experience as a post-production house and therefore started our new, separate business offering called LA Video Transfer.

After 10 years of operation, we feel that we’ve developed a distinct reputation for providing the best quality work in our city and have many happy customer testimonials to back up our work, something we’re very proud of.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
We’ve been fortunate to have had a smooth path for the most part. We’ve been able to grow this part of our business relatively easily over the years as there has been a real need for this. As time has gone on, we’ve added more services, found ways to handle additional needs of our clients, and been able to work in some very professional ways with bigger name operations to do digital archival work.

We feel one of our biggest challenges is the need to always learn more about a specific situation/process in order to meet the needs of an archive project involving specific antiquated formats.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
We are a company that provides audio, video, photo digitization services that allow our clients to preserve their memories or keepsakes in a modern and reliable fashion.

We specialize in consumer based archival work but have provided digitization services for museums, private archives, and production companies looking to produce content.

We are most proud of our ability to meet the need of each client and to fully understand and excel at the process of converting their most important materials to something usable and high quality.

I believe our experience and our passion separates us from our competition, we provide a personalized and well-reasoned approach to each archival project. We strive to ensure that we provide the best quality results possible.

What were you like growing up?
Personally, as the owner of the company, I’ve always been driven to achieve and to excel at technological innovations.

This project (company) allows me to share that experience with our employees and customers, to be able to work with new and old and to be able to find out how to best transfer their materials to fit the needs of their project.
