Meet Mahogany Clark

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mahogany Clark.

Mahogany, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I am from Miami FL I am 21 years old and I now serve in the U.S. Army, I always have written poetry but I published my first poetry book in May of 2019, and my second book December of 2019. I joined the military after high-school, and I had been stationed in Fort Bragg, NC for a year. I started to wonder what my purpose in life was and I decided it was writing because I writing is something I would do no matter what my circumstances was.

When you are purpose searching in life you, find that your purpose is something that you are passionate about. Something that you would do if you got paid for it or not because you love to do it.

Has it been a smooth road?
Some struggles along the way would be marketing myself everyday, being that I self publish. Sometimes it can be hard to get up everyday and keep going when you are trying to figure out how to catch the attention of, build, and keep an audience. Between working, building, worrying, and sometimes life happening, it can be hard to keep going. I have always pushed myself to continue on, and I don’t have a reason to stop now.

We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
I am Author of the books, Self Love and A Cup Of Family Tea, and I am most proud that my words have encouraged and changed people’s lives. People from all over the world, not just in the states but also in the UK, are readers of my craft. People that I have known or know now look up to me as their inspiration to keep going in life. Knowing that alone makes me want to keep pushing no matter how bad it may hurt. What sets me apart from people is that I live to be that light for others and support others who are doing the Same. Many of people are lost and are looking for light, they are dealing with internal issues behind closed doors they don’t know how to fix, and that is where I come in.

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
In the next five years, I expect to see myself even larger as an author and better as a person. In my life, things have always been changing around me, and the challenges that I have faced are most likely no match for what is to come. Also though I am stepping into a new genre of books, children’s books to be exact. I am very excited to see how I do in this genre of books being that I am now targeting a different audience to encourage them, Children are our future, so you must nurture them and teach them correctly so that the world’s future can be bright! So be on the lookout for that book coming soon.
