Meet Steph Adams

Today we’d like to introduce you to Steph Adams.

Steph, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I grew up in Perth Western Australia in a big family. We always had at least 7 people around the table at night for dinner. I always loved reading fashion magazines. I started modelling early and this took me around the world. I was modelling for ten years before I moved into graphic design and pursued a career in publishing in the world of fashion magazines working with British Vogue, Harpers Bazaar, Vogue Australia, Grazia, Elle, Net-a-Porter and Conde Nast Traveller.

I have always been trying to find my mark and lead with my strengths, but what I have learned is that we grow through our failures, so we shouldn’t be too hard on ourselves.

I established a design agency during my work as an Art Director and was working with clients globally all through L.A, London, Singapore, Sydney, Germany and New York. I created www.stephadams.com on the side and started to build a global following from many of my clients and collaborations. I was collaborating with many different brands.

The first coffee table book I produced for a client was around luxury hotels, the second book was ‘Good to Glow’ which featured different hotels and celebrities. Then came The Game Changers in 2016. Myself and my co-author Samantha Brett, wanted to feature women making changers in the world. Meghan Markle happen to be one of them with many other empowering women. The book had international acclaim and became a bestselling book almost overnight. The Game Changers has been featured on Good Morning America, Fox News, BBC, Sky News and more.

The Game Changers Edition 3 was re-released this year (2020) along with my other books: Fashion & Style, Citations D’amour and Beauty & Wellness. The aim for me was really to bring happiness, positivity and inspiration
into people’s lives. Citations D’amour hit number 4 in France on the bestseller list on its release.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
There are always struggles along the way. You will never ever have a smooth road in everything you do. You have to always remain positive and support the people that support you. Not everyone will.

The setbacks are there to teach us what we really want and to work at pushing forward.

We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
I’m trying to slow down more and focus on time with the people who are the most important.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Success is having the freedom to do what you want when you want but that’s not always as realistic as it sounds. I think family is the most important and that our health plays an important path. It’s just having that balance between work and play and spending time with the people you love.
