Meet Kendra Greenberg

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kendra Greenberg.

Kendra, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I got my first taste of photography traveling across the country to move to Los Angeles from New York. I had a disposable film camera and wanted to understand why I couldn’t capture that magnificence with such a generic lens. My fiance, now husband, bought me a canon when we got here and the journey began. I started doing headshots, then after my first son was born I switched to weddings and events and then I had the twins and had to take a break. What came out of my break was something that has really captured my heart. The joy of photographing tiny ones is where I’m supposed to be. I started working in hospitals for one of those companies that does photography in your room. And then I became a trainer there and finally, I went out on my own. I have photographed about 1500 newborns so far and work hard to make it easy for mothers

Has it been a smooth road?
Finding ways to incorporate work and motherhood has certainly been a challenge but I think every mom has the same struggle. At least I have a job that is all about children makes it easier.

I also needed to learn my value and charge folks appropriately so I can have a functioning business. That took some time to work up to. But I enjoy what I’m doing so it’s all worth it.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Kendra Greenberg Photography – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of and what sets you apart from others.
I specialize in maternity and newborn photography. I am known for high drama outdoor maternity sessions. I love to use the natural terrain of my location. Stunning sunsets, big valley views over cliffs and tall pale grasses are a few of my favorites.

For my newborn sessions, I love to collaborate with parents. Most of my parents know that they want newborn photos but they haven’t thought more about it. I try to narrow down color choices to match the home so they can display them. I also always include family because as a mom, I think everyone should be a part of the celebration of this new life. I shoot 99% of my sessions in my client’s home because I think as a new parent, you have enough to deal with in the early days. Getting everyone and everything in the car should be your last priority.

I am currently building out an in home studio for clients that want that experience. And this will allow me to expand creatively for the maternity sessions. As soon as we can, I’d like to roll out a line of body painted looks for expectant mamas to choose from. I think it could be amazing.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I love the beaches. I love the weather. I love the desert terrain.

I hate the traffic as does everyone!
