Meet Travis Macedo of MacedoMedia

Today we’d like to introduce you to Travis Macedo.

Travis, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I was born in a small town in Oklahoma, where we were living there were not a lot of opportunities. Most people don’t leave and most couldn’t if they wanted to. I always knew that there was something special about myself and that I would need to chase whatever dream came to me. So after a series of events unraveled I decided to move to California in 2010. People always ask how I got started, I was actually an “artist” before ever picking up a camera. In terms of producing video content, I always revert back to the time when I actually started taking cinematography more seriously. Which would be around or about August or September 2017 when I met $tupid Young and we started producing content together.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
The road has certainly not been smooth, there have been many ups and downs along the way. One of the things that I believe most creators are going to struggle with is self value. To elaborate, as a cinematographer in a saturated market such as the Los Angeles area it can be tricky to navigate between earning what you believe you are worth and missing an opportunity just because someone else may bid the job lower than you. Another thing I have run into personally and other creators maybe can relate is that it is easy to get burnt out because a lot of times the types of work are so similar it feels like you’re doing the same thing over and over. That is why I always try to bring something fresh to my work, I want to enjoy the process.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about MacedoMedia – what should we know?
MacedoMedia is about creating content that will elevate your product, brand, or artist. We specialize in creating music videos mainly within the genre of Rap/HipHop. I believe we are simply known for having cinematic quality and one of the quickest turnaround times available. In terms of what we are proud of, We’ve garnered over 50 million views for content we have created on YouTube and other platforms, our work has been seen on every continent in the world (except maybe Antarctica lol). We are known for providing a great service with professionalism and taking pride in our work. Sure there are creators that can do a million videos a month, that has never been our focus, we start off actually caring for each project.

Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
Definitely want to thank any artist that has trusted me with my vision, want to thank my family and closest friends who have always supported my work and last but not least any fans of my work that have ever gotten enjoyment out of the content I create. I’m enjoying the process of growing and hope to keep going. There is no one moment that would be my proudest. Simply knowing the impact I have had on so many artists careers, is something that I am grateful to have had the opportunity to contribute to.
