Today we’d like to introduce you to Tal Malkin.

Tal, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
It all started at a very early age. I come from a family where interior design was everything! My mother was a designer and I fell in love with the concept right along with her. Learning all different styles from European décor to Moroccan styles, it all came very natural. I love seeing the transformation from beginning to end for every project.

Later on, when I met my husband, he was in the window and door industry, and slowly we began to build what is now Flat Rate Remodeling. We specialize in complete kitchen & bathroom design and remodeling in addition complete home renovation. It’s so amazing to bring our clients’ vision to life. We see each space like a blank canvas, design and remodeling is our art. Now we proudly serve Los Angeles county and we look forward to expanding our services even further in the near future.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Well, I would say the main struggle is maintaining the momentum when it comes to client services. We always strive for excellent customer service, and we want to continue to focus on that aspect of our business.

Building relationships with different clients definitely vary between each individual and no matter what, we always make sure the job is completed to our clients’ satisfaction.

In the beginning, our business really relied on word-of-mouth and referrals from our current clients. That is a road that remains unpredictable, you never know who you will work with, however positivity remains a foundation for every project and we will continue to build solid relationships.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
My proudest moment is every time I know my clients are totally satisfied. I know it may sound small to some, but it really brings me joy to see my customers happy. Every positive review and testimonial makes me proud, it lets me know I am doing business the right way. When a project is finished, seeing the results also makes me proud, going through the journey with my clients.
