Meet Emiliano Decontreras of Jarcarti in Encino

Today we’d like to introduce you to Emiliano Decontreras.

Emiliano, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
As a kid, I never had an easy life growing up. Having parents in and out of the court system. Going back and forth living with grandparents and foster care. I was born in West Covina CA and moved a lot throughout the years. When I was nine years old my mom, two sisters, and I made a move up to Grants Pass, Oregon. To get away from the crazy life and leave the past behind to start a new future. In middle school, I was always a troubled kid who didn’t really care too much about school. I went on to high school in 9th grade and started to lose my self, I wasn’t showing up to school and I was failing all of my classes, just about the same with 10th grade. I saw my self slipping through the cracks and knew I had to do something. My friend’s mom took me in my 11th grade of high school to better myself. I always told myself I never wanted to be like my dad and knew what had to be done. I started going to school and getting B’s and A’s for grades.

At the time I had a relationship, this person helped me through all the changes that I was going through in my life and helped find who I really was. 12th grade came around and I was just about caught up on what I missed from the first two years of high school. I was on track to graduate. The end of the year came and I graduated with my class of 2018. I was the first to graduate from my immediate family. I was also the youngest. Growing up as a kid, I always knew I wanted to be in the entertainment industry. But my sophomore year was the year I knew and had to be in social media. So I worked very hard 11th, and 12th grade to be where I’m at today. If I never graduate or if my friend’s mom never took me under their wing I would not be here today so I am thankful for that.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It was not a smooth road at all. Poverty, moving house to house, getting to school. In and out of court systems. And change.

What else should our readers know?
I am a social media influencer. I do TikTok, IG and YouTube as well. I live in a content creator house with other people. I am known for my interviews, well-edited videos for a montage and car questions as well.

What were you like growing up?
I was super shy and always kept to myself.
