Meet Jordan Lewis of Casual Productions in North Hollywood

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jordan Lewis.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Jordan. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I’m originally from Akron, Ohio a small city where I stuck out like a sore them from the way I speak to the way I dress. I was always a bit eccentric compared to my peers. I moved to Los Angeles to explore my talents in dance, acting and cinematography. And the rest is history. I focused on dance my first few months but life didn’t fall in alignment with dance as much as it did with acting and production. Working on the many sets I’ve been blessed to be a part, my interest in production grew and I wanted to learn more about the behind the scenes and the science behind filming. I’ve been wielding a camera since college, so jumping into filming was a smooth transition. Since then, I’ve recently started my own production company Casual Productions LLC, A Casual variety shows, and a few short films “KUSH” and “let’s bake a cake”, two comedies.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
If anyone says there’re no struggles and obstacles in this journey is lying. Adjusting to a big city life was and learning the ropes and the people Was a little taxing at first, but once I got used to it, I just knew what to expect. People are impatient, not as polite as back home, flakey as all get out, and very indirect compared to Akron, Ohio. Financially. It’s been an uphill battle, especially trying to focus on and invest in my talents while also trying to live a life and be a human. Balancing work, talents, and an actual social life is pretty hard, and I’m often left with choosing one while one falls to the wayside. But balance is key. It’s important to make time for you.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Casual Productions story. Tell us more about the business.
Casual Productions is a production company. We create content for others big or small. You give us a budget, and we give you an immaculate production, regardless. We shoot photography, headshots, street style, etc. and create and produce feature films and short films. As a company, I’m most proud of the creation of our very own (A Casual) Variety Show. We release new & creative content every (aCasual) Friday on YouTube. We collaborate with artist of all kind to bring you quality entertainment. You never know what to expect. What sets Casual Productions apart from all else is our ambition and our drive. We’re big on “Get it done by any means necessary”. We stop at nothing and let nothing stop us from achieving our goals and we work together to highlight the talents of the team not just the individual. We’re all in it together. And we all win.

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
Honestly, it’s nothing but favor from God. My life has had some terribly dark times but in comparison to the blessings that come my way I definitely can’t complain about the cards I’ve been dealt. I stay grateful, and humbled because coming from the small city of Akron, Ohio there aren’t many opportunities to do what I’m doing here, so I don’t know about luck but, I couldn’t be more blessed.
