Meet Elton Qualls-Harris of Eight Ray Agency in Hollywood

Today we’d like to introduce you to Elton Qualls-Harris.

Elton, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I’ve always been interested in the entertainment industry, coming from Houston to LA to start my singing career off.

Los Angeles provided me the opportunity to learn my craft and gain amazing experiences along the way I quickly realized that there was more to the music industry than I had considered!

I actually had to build a brand and start from the bottom networking my way up, cultivating a brand is definitely a task that takes time, skill, and lots of effort.

Public relations became an opportunity to have a job that not only keeps me independent as an artist, but I’m able to help people gain the keys to creating a lasting brand.

Today I’m running a successful boutique PR firm that is growing everyday!

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Public relations comes with long hours and a lot of mixed emotions, Los Angeles is a tough market and it is mostly about who you know. Building a business here presented many challenges including not making deadline because of things out of your control, losing contacts and having to remain financially and mentally stable in a very grueling work environment. Honestly, nothing great comes without a couple of bumps in the road!

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Eight Ray Agency – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
My company is a boutique public relations firm named Eight Ray Agency, this is significant to me because “Eight” is my birth month and year and “Ray” is my middle name.

Eight Ray Agency focuses mostly on up and coming talent with a need to break into the entertainment industry, we are proud of this because we get to continuously work with new young hungry emerging talent that a lot of times people just look the opposite way on.

What sets us apart from most of the other firms is that we take a major hands on approach to getting our clients the results they deserve, while creating lasting memories.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
I plan to expand Eight Ray Agency into more than a boutique firm, right now things have been great. Eventually, I’m hoping to transform the firm into more a talent management agency, still offering PR services but the focus would shift just a bit.
