Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Elizabeth Hoefer (hay-fer).
Thanks for sharing your story with us Dr. Elizabeth. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I have been in private practice just over 11 years and I had been an associate doctor for ten years when I felt the call to start my own practice in January 2019. Sadly, I suffered with severe depression most of my life and in 2007, while I was attending Palmer College of Chiropractic in Iowa, I received a life-altering correction(adjustment) that changed my life for the better instantly. I knew that day, in that moment, I was going to spend the rest of my life giving back because my life was given back to me in such a remarkable way. The gift of health that was given to me was so precious I want to help people understand that it is possible to heal and live in alignment with all the incredible things they are called to do. I want everyone to know is entirely possible to have hope and peace and joy daily. My story got even more exciting on May 6, 2018, when I opened an email from a complete stranger that said he had been looking for me my entire life and that he had always loved me. I was very confused because if someone was looking for me, that must have meant that I was lost and up until that day, I thought I knew exactly where I was, who I was, and what I was about.
Simply put, it was a match from a company called Ancestry DNA, you might have heard of them;). The email was from my biological father writing to tell me his 38 year search had ended, and he was thrilled to have found me. The problem was, I did not know that he was looking for me, that the man who raised me was NOT my biological father, or that my mother had lied to everyone involved for my entire life. Grappling, and coming to terms with the magnitude of this revelation, was quite difficult. Ultimately though, it has been the biggest catalyst to growth that I have ever experienced. It inspired me to launch into my own practice, it informs each decision I make professionally and personally and it has given me the foundation of ANYTHING is possible. With the understanding of my identity grounded in truth,I am fearless to go after what I want and I know that what I have to offer the world is good,worthy and necessary.
This is why I am so passionate about telling the world about Blair Chiropractic care. I have personally witnessed thousands of people over the years get their lives back. Getting my correction in 2007 healed me and allowed me to be in the position to receive and integrate the most profound changes with gratitude. It isn’t just about the physical pain either, what I have seen when people are well connected-pun intended- is that the impact they have in their expression of life is magnified exponentially. MANY of my patients tell me they feel “themselves” for the first time and they never knew how rewarding life could be living in alignment. I have a podcast called Get Your Head On Straight where I talk about the power of authenticity and staying connected. It has been a blast living in the truth of who I really am, serving people with a heart of unconditional love and being able to meet them where they are and help them get to where they want to be. Chiropractic care is so much more than just taking care of neck and back pain. It is a way of living that truly inspires people to exist optimally in all areas of their life.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Absolutely not! I was a single mom going through chiropractic school with severe depression and it took every ounce of shear determination to simply get out of bed to get to class daily back then. Growing up without a mother was hard, she left me when I was 2 years old. I had a hard time trusting people and raising a daughter alone was extremely difficult. Thankfully I had a great support system and I literally could not have made it through college without the help of my friends. Looking back on how far I have come, it’s really remarkable what I was able to do with the unwavering support of my tribe. Now that I am married and have two more children balancing family and career has been an interesting challenge. It’s tough because I am so passionate about helping people get healthy that I sometimes forget that rest and relaxation are important for me too!
My husband and my kids are there to remind me what is important. We have a blast having dance parties in our living room and enjoying quite time to reflect on our love for each other. I am so grateful I get to be the mom I never had. My girls are unequivocal champions of my dreams to change the world. I am proud to be the example for them on what it looks like to face adversity and rise up. The support of my husband is insane! I couldn’t do half of what I do if it weren’t for him. Finding out about an entire family from my biological father that I never knew existed has been an adventure for me as well. The thing that I always fall back on is identity. Knowing who you are is what is necessary to grow, improve and make an impact. Individually, I have grown more in the last 18 months, than at any other time in my life. Regarding my daughters, they have seen me transform into a woman who faces fear with determination and power because I KNOW who I am and I am loved for simply being, nothing more, nothing less. They need to know this is true of them too. THE WORLD needs to know this is true. There is so much sadness and suffering in the world but it is possible to overcome that by simply believing that being is enough.

I own and operate Well Connected Chiropractic in Mission Viejo, CA. I am a Blair Upper Cervical Chiropractor. Most people have never heard of Blair Chiropractic. What I do is focus on the alignment of the neck in a very specific, gentle way with no twisting, cracking, or popping. Many of my patients find me because they have been to every other kind of doctor and no one has been able to help them with their issues. I analyze the area surrounding the brain stem and make an exact correction(adjustment) to establish neurological integrity using the bones and joints in the neck to guide the adjustment like a contractor uses blueprints to build things. I specialize in restoring hope. I encounter sick and suffering everyday but I meet it with compassion and grace designed to fuel inspiration and a real desire to empower people to live their life in alignment.
My practice offers state of the art chiropractic care with the support of massage therapy, cranial sacral therapy, nutritional supplements, pulsed electromagnetic frequency therapy and products to counteract the effects of toxic emfs. We offer world-class care with the intention of changing the world through keeping people well connected to every aspect of their lives. I am most proud of my team. What were you like growing up?
I was never satisfied with status quo. I always wanted more, but not in a materialistic sense. I wanted more intentional relationships, more communication, more authenticity. I made friends easily and I enjoyed getting to know people on a deep level. I was a dreamer with really big goals and LOVED singing. I wanted to sing on Broadway, actually. I was always a decent student but under the dreamy, goal-setting doer, I was sad, confused and disappointed that things never seemed to add up. I let people tell me who I was rather than trusting the innate essence of who I was. I always knew I would do great things, but for a long time I let broken people get the best of me. I was a bright kid with a pretty sassy attitude. That served me well in surviving some pretty devastating things. I believed that things could change and I never took no for an answer. I challenged everything and everyone all the time and I was exasperating, I am sure. I was a natural leader and one that never took things at face value. I ALWAYS wanted to know why. Trusting that good would always come is how I survived. Faith in my dreams drove me to keep pushing myself to improve. This is still evident today in how I pursue education in my field to be the best doctor I can be.
