Today we’d like to introduce you to Alton Pete.
Alton, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I have a heart full of compassion and love for everyone.
I spent 26 years, four months, a 16-month tour in Iraq by way of a sacrifice in Harm’s Way for the Freedom, Safety and Security for America. Joined the Army, 26 June 1987 and was blessed to Retire from the Army, 1 March 2014. All of this rigid training and noteworthy experience has made me, who I am today.
Five years ago, I thought about making a positive change into revitalizing the communities and the entire world by taking a Leap of Faith along with some courage to start a movement, write a book and perhaps a Huge Film on the Big Screen called “Life is so Precious.”
Iraq was an eye-opener for me. Nearly every day in Combat, I came extremely close to losing my life from some occurrences such as those mortal rounds landing a few feet away from the position the soldiers and I were standing near our sleeping areas. The mortal rounds bouncing off the wall, but the Grace of God did allow those mortal rounds to explode in front of us. These types of explosive devices are powerful enough to destroy a city.
I’ll never, ever forget the moment at the DFAC ( Dining Facility) at around 1115 hours, close to lunchtime. We came under fire attack from the Iraqis with their AK47 weapons. Those big rounds were ricocheting off the cement barriers, I vividly remember hearing the sounds of the rounds whistling close to my ears as I took the initiative to assist, defuse and calm everyone down enough to find a spot to conceal themselves. Once again, the Grace of God did not allow anyone or any person to get hit.
So, after facing these undergoing experiences, losing both my mom and my only sister. These Few Powerful Words “Life is so Precious” began to rise up, inside of me. I owe God and I owe myself, to utilize my gifts and talents to start this terrific, brilliant and dazzling movement.
I went to War to Save Lives. My desire Today and Tomorrow is to Touch Lives through a consequential, far-reaching, approachable and relatable way.
I feel extremely connected to people of all ages, no matter who they are and where they are from. Here are some encouraging words to everyone right now. When you’re feeling unhappy about life’s, ups and downs, and you feel like Giving Up. Don’t do that! We all have struggled over something, I have to fight every day to overcome my struggles, such as the loss of my mom and my sister. Things are going to get better. Your History may feel like a Mystery, it’s just your own unique Story to get to the next level. God, gets all the Glory. You Will Win, You are Powerful and you’re much stronger than you think, you are.
“Life is so Precious” will continue to be a positive outlet and will provide a Ray of Hope to the hopeless and a builder of Comfort to the comfortless. This is my interactive way of inspiring you and sending aspirations your way.
I care…
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
The road has been challenging, but I refuse to give up. I’m a Winner and You are too…
We’d love to hear more about your work.
“Life is so Precious” serving 26 years, 4 months and a 16-month tour in Iraq fighting for our freedom, safety and security sets me apart from others.
My deep compassion and love for the communities, homelessness, the youth, women and men, and the veterans in America and around the world have become my vision to implement into actions.
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
I would not change anything at this stage and point in my life. Experience is earned and believe me. I have enough experience and I have earned my way. I’m ready to make an Incredible Impact over this entire world.
