Life and Work with Lyndsay Zavitz

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lyndsay Zavitz.

Lyndsay, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I’m originally from Canada and finally made the move to Los Angeles four years ago to expand my makeup career. I had been doing makeup in Canada for 14 years and felt like it was time to follow my dreams. I had no connections or jobs prior to my move but once I got to LA, I hustled and connected with a celebrity makeup artist who changed my life. I assisted him for two and a half years and learned so much from him. I took from my experience and built a name for myself during that time and now currently work with celebrity clients on a daily basis.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Going after any dream is not an easy experience but it is worth it. I chose a career that I love and am very passionate about and never gave up. I think if you stay true to yourself and keep pushing, you can accomplish anything.

What do you do, what do you specialize in, what are you known for, etc. What are you most proud of? What sets you apart from others?
I’m a celebrity makeup artist, I specialize in everything from the red carpet, editorial, tv, and everyday glam. I’m always proud of the career that I’ve built over the past four years of living in America as a female entrepreneur. My work ethic sets me apart especially in an industry so competitive, you have to be on your A-game all the time and willing to go the extra mile for your clients.

Are there any apps, books, podcasts or other resources that you’ve benefited from using?
I like listening to encouraging podcast like Joel Osteen and Joyce Meyer. My faith is definitely what keeps me grounded in an industry that can be so superficial.
