Meet Tana Rose of KB Recording Group in Hollywood

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tana Rose.

Tana, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I was raised in the outskirts of San Francisco and began classical training in piano and vocals by age five. Coming from a family of traditional business owners in real estate, it was a huge surprise to my family to see me write, compose, & produce full-length projects by the age of 13. During High School, I attended Singing and Acting classes at the school of John Robert Powers. Through their school, I was able to attend iPOP! (International Presentation of Performers) and won 5th place in their 13-17 years old singing category out of 3500 other contestants at 13 years old.

Now I am 22 and graduated with an Associates Of Science in Recording Arts, an Associates of Science in Music Production & a Bachelors of Science in Entertainment Business Management. I’ve worked hand in hand with industry experts such as Multi-Platinum Record Producer Andrew Lane, Grammy Award-winning Audio Engineer Joel Numa & James Fahey. For the past year and a half, I have currently been the COO of KB Recording Group, whilst also a full-time professional recording artist at the same time. My upcoming album, ‘Petals and Thorns’ will be distributed through KB Recording Group/Sony Music Entertainment by the end of 2019.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Of course, it’s never been a smooth road. In order to succeed, you’ve got to learn how to overcome every single “what if” situation that might come into your life – because someday it will. I’ve had equipment malfunction at the worst times, horrid clients, and moments when you have to learn a new skill on the spot just to fix what should only seem like a minor problem. But I never stop trying; I never quit, and I’ve grown to be a very dedicated person working towards my goals, which motivates my ambition to overcome my obstacles even more.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about KB Recording Group – what should we know?
KB Recording Group is a veteran-owned Publishing Company & Record Label that doubles as a professional recording studio. Our clients are young & talented artists that may not have the huge amount of capital necessary to build a successful career in the entertainment industry. We pride ourselves on having the opportunity to mold these young & talented artists’ careers by being the mentor they need to develop their brands & creative minds.

Our team values the music over all else because we understand what it feels like to be an under-appreciated creative. The artists we pursue or show interest in partnering with through our company are potential lifelong business partners whose music we are incomparably passionate about.

When it comes to me as an Artist, that is another story. I am a songwriter, music producer, media developer, model, photographer, and much more. My upcoming album, “Petals & Thorns” is soon to be released in December of this year.

Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
My family, especially my father. He has always been there to offer me outstanding advice when it comes to business and financials. My teachers from college; they were professionals in their craft and knew the answer to every single one of my questions. Lastly, my partner in work, in love, and in life. He has not only been my manager as an artist, but he is also the CEO of our company. He is such a great leader; together combined we account for every single aspect of a business: both strategic and the creative sides.
