Meet Amanda DiGiacomo of Atlas Financial Solutions in Kern County Bakersfield

Today we’d like to introduce you to Amanda DiGiacomo.

Amanda, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I started Atlas Financial Solutions after realizing my true passion is helping those in my community. I am honored to share my knowledge, experience, and skills to elevate small business owners around me. I graduated with honors from California State University Bakersfield with a degree in Economics with a concentration in Management Information Systems. In my undergraduate, I co-founded the Economic Student Association which helps students, faculty, and employers stay connected. Additionally, I am a member of the sorority Gamma Phi Beta which is a wonderful organization that is consistently giving back and volunteering in the community. Among being a part of many local organizations for business owners, I currently am the board of the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) this association allows me to connect and support other women entrepreneurs.

During my undergraduate, I worked as a bookkeeper for a property management company and an engineering firm. Later in my career, I become the controller and operations manager of that engineering firm handling the day to day operations and finances. With that experience, I have obtained my first aid, OSHA 30, EDD payroll tax, and DLSE labor law certificates. Additionally, I am a Quickbooks Certified ProAdvisor. Currently, I am working on getting the CTEC tax license.

With modern day technologies, I am able to share my knowledge with small businesses all throughout California, remotely.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
One of the biggest challenges I have faced is the self-doubt. It is a weekly struggle one day you’re on a high because you signed a client then the next two days you’re doubting your abilities, skills and if you made the right decision. I feel that it is very common to not talk about your internal struggles because you want others to believe in you and your business.

The second challenge is social media marketing! I did not realize how much time went into planning content. Let’s be honest no one wants to read about taxes or accounting when they are relaxing scrolling through IG so I have to be that much more intentional with my marketing. After listening to numerous podcasts and experiencing a few FB and IG outages I have jumped on the banwagon about an email list. However, building that email list can be tough.

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
Wow, wasn’t expecting that question! I would have to say my favorite memory as a child would be going to cut down our Christmas tree in the snow, drinking hot coco, and decorating the tree at home.
