Today we’d like to introduce you to Frankie.
Frankie, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I’ve been singing and writing music most of my life. My earliest memories of me are singing show tunes at the age of three. By the time I turned 10, I was coming home every day after school to teach myself a new guitar chord and attempting to write my own songs.
After being in a high school band, I attended college and got a music degree as well as met my future collaborators and greatest friends. After graduating, I moved to LA with my producer and songwriting partner, Petros AP, and we quickly saved up all the money we had from teaching children music lessons and started to make a body of music that we would be proud of all on our own. We ended up creating my first EP, Dreamstate which lead me my first major label record deal, a launching pad into the music industry and a name for myself. From then I toured for years promoting my music across the country making friends along the way and continued to write and release new songs.
At the end of last year, I parted ways with my label so that I could put out more music more frequently on my own terms which I noticed to be a theme in the music industry these days. I then created my second EP, STA7GES, which came out earlier this year all about the healing of heartbreak and have been currently working on music to release this summer!
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
There have definitely been a puddle of struggles but just as many blessings! The life of any musician is definitely never a smooth road. The main struggle for me has been getting my voice heard on different levels whether that be with my label or through distribution and streaming services to make sure my music gets the attention it deserves. I always find that on any level of getting your music heard you always want to be at the next level ahead to make sure that it continues growing. I would say that has been my biggest struggle to not feel stuck. The pop lane I think is the hardest to make your way to the top but I’m still out here making music I love trying to climb and expressing my truth!

What were you like growing up?
I was more of a tomboy growing up. My best friend and I would skateboard cuz we wanted to be just like Avril Lavigne and make our own homemade whacky movie parodies. I always had my guitar in hand and would write a song, I kid you not, every day after school and show my best friend on the weekends. I was definitely known as the music guitar girl amongst my friends. It was my therapy and still is!
