Meet David Elliott

Today we’d like to introduce you to David Elliott.

Thanks for sharing your story with us David. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I moved to Los Angeles in 1987 to become an actor and started pursuing that dream. Within a year, I started having strangers come up (and sometimes grab me) and tell me I’m a healer, and that they had been sent to find me. It was more than bizarre and of course, my ego was always hoping they had seen me in an acting role but that was never the case.

After a few years of pounding the pavement as an actor, I was fairly certain I wanted acting more than it wanted me, and this healing thing wasn’t going away. Eventually, I met a healer who told me a bunch of crazy information including that he had known me many lifetimes and indeed I was a healer. His name was Tim Heath and he lived in Sedona, AZ. He told me he was not my teacher and in fact, I had taught him a breathing meditation in India 2000+ years ago, and he had come along now to remind me who I was. Again these stories seemed too ridiculous to have any merit, but they peaked my interest enough to let him guide me through the meditation I supposedly taught him long ago. Needless to say, the experience blew my mind and opened me up to energy as I had never felt it before. I still was not ready to give up acting, but every person I seemed to be meeting was interested in me helping them heal.

I reluctantly gave in to starting to see a few people a week for healing sessions, which were highly creative or maybe I should say naturally intuitive. The four to five people a week quickly turned into thirty to forty people a week and even quicker, the acting career started to be placed on the back burner. My practice grew steady and stayed consistent and the next thing I knew we were staring at 9-11-01. I had just committed to teaching people how to do the work I was doing and the class had been agreed upon Labor Day 2001. After 9-11, I knew things were changing fast and it seemed I was challenged to take on more responsibility in helping others. I was guided to write my first book, The Reluctant Healer and the healing work has grown steadily since that time taking me on journeys and teaching engagements around the world from Italy, France, England, Peru, Brazil, Mexico, Spain, Slovenia, Croatia, and many other countries remotely.

I have a team of teachers that help teach some of my training classes and together we have trained thousands of people to work with the breath in a practice we call Breathwork. As well people are given all of the tools I use in the healing work I do and they are trained to develop their intuition and be able to heal their own life and help others at the same time. The healing work is very gratifying and through the teaching, healing, and writing, I have never looked back to my career as an actor and felt any longing or remorse. This was the path I was sent to follow this lifetime.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
The road has been fairly smooth this far and I can say I have been working and surviving as a healer for over twenty-five years now.

Some of the bigger struggles have been managing, helping people, and maintaining clear energetic boundaries when it may seem like I have the answers or know something they do not.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
With my corporation, David Elliott Inc, we are helping people heal through private work, Healer Training classes, Retreats, guided mp3 meditations, and many other tools used in the work like my own line of essential oils and sprays.

My gift for helping others heal is a gift of hearing known as Clairaudience or intuitive hearing. This gift exploded when I move to Los Angeles in 1987 and has been going full bore since then. My friend Tim Heath told me about the gift which I didn’t know about at the time. He said, “You hear the answer to people’s questions before they ask the question. You hear into people’s subconscious and it can be uncomfortable for others to be around you.” These things were true and my life was getting stranger and stranger and the things that Tim helped me understand helped me put things into perspective.

In the teaching work, I do I have found consistent success helping others awaken their gifts whether that be deep empathic understanding of their clairvoyance – clear seeing, clairaudience – clear hearing, or clairsentients – clear knowing. Also, I’ve been able to help people connect deeply to their energy and activate profound clearings of stuck energy or beliefs that are hurting them or making them sick. And to keep all of this in perspective – I don’t feel like I am doing much except being willing to really listen to a person and help guide them to new understandings of the freedom they desire. It is very rewarding work!

The second book I wrote called HEALING has over twenty years of the healing work in it and I believe it shares all of the approaches I use in the work. The book is available as a hard copy, digital, and audio through Amazon, as well I make the book available for free as a pdf download on my website. I’m committed to helping as many people as I can on this journey.

What were you like growing up?
I grew up on a large farm in Western Kentucky. I was around more animals than people until I graduated high school. I played sports with basketball being my favorite. Eventually, when I left the farm, I knew I wouldn’t go back because there was more for me to go and find out about life.
