Today we’d like to introduce you to SunRise The Divine.
SunRise, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I am a healer and an artivist based in Los Angeles. Originally from Huntington, West Virginia, I moved to L.A. in 2014 in pursuit of my dreams of being successful in the entertainment industry. I spent a few years doing background acting, recording music and performing at different events. In 2016, I went to school and got certified for massage therapy. This changed the direction of my journey in a very powerful way. I fell In love with be able to help people heal. I’ve started my own mobile massage practice where I go to my client’s house, or they can come to my space. I also provide massage therapy at a lot of events and businesses.
Along with healing via massage therapy, I spend a lot of my time creating music, curating events with my team, creating homemade healthcare products and getting involved in the community. I am very big on influencing unity in the community and spreading love light and knowledge. A lot of my friends and people I work with inspired me to be on the path I am now. Being in L.A. transformed my perspective of life and taught me so much. My Goal in life is to not only heal and elevate myself but to also help as many people as I can do the same!
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road has not been smooth it has been a roller coaster lol. Physically I’ve definitely been through the L.A. struggle. By L.A. struggle, I mean rent and cost of living. I’ve also purged a lot of habits and thought processes that no longer served me which didn’t feel too good either. I wouldn’t change the way any of it happened as it made me who I am today.
Please tell us about Massage by Sunrise.
So basically, I am a mobile massage therapist. I go to my client’s house to provide the session. I also pop up and work at events and festivals. I specialize in deep tissue massage but I am also very efficient in Swedish, reflexology, combination, hot stones and aromatherapy. I am most proud of the service I provide for people. What sets me apart from every other therapist is the intention and energy work I infuse in my sessions.
Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
My favorite memory from childhood running around playing with my friends and cousins.
