Today we’d like to introduce you to Tim Sabatino.
Tim, we’d love to hear your story and how you got to where you are today both personally and as an artist.
I am a father, humanitarian, artist, photographer, and director. I have been a fine art painter my entire life, having won my first art contest at the age of five. I was inspired to study photography in high school, the 80s in order to photograph my subjects to paint from. Now a professional photographer for 25 years, I specialize in photographing celebrities, fashion, editorial, advertising and more.
During the last 15 years, I have expanded to directing and producing music videos, commercials, short films, and other entertainment media. I have had the honor of photographing the Dalai Lama many times over a seven-year period. I have had hundreds of fine art and photography exhibitions in Los Angeles, Beverly Hills, Malibu, Las Vegas, Washington DC and Europe which has decorated hundreds and hundreds of homes with aesthetic paintings and photographs. I am a very active humanitarian where I volunteer and contribute to educate on human rights, drugs and disaster response campaigns where I helped the firefighters in the California fires and the Texas hurricane Harvey disaster. We’d love to hear more about your art. What do you do and why and what do you hope others will take away from your work?
I paint large oil paintings on 6′ or 7′ canvas with mixed media from portraits to figurative. I’ve always painted. I don’t know how to not be an artist. I love to paint and I love to paint people. I aim to have my portraits communicate a feeling and emotion. I want people to talk about them. I want people to want to decorate their homes with my work. My paintings average price is $25,000. They belong in nice homes.
I also have several photography exhibitions, one is a series on Ballerinas photographed around Los Angeles, another is a series of photography on the Dalai Lama and Buddhist monks, Tibetans and the Tibetan Prime Minister. This includes a published photography book and a video as well. Another photography exhibition is called “Sensuelle”, a mostly black and white series of models, actors and other people in a sort of fashion, vintage style. The average price of my photography is $1,500.
Ultimately, I want people to have aesthetics in their homes and enjoy them. I hope my artwork ads a creative vibe so their living spaces.

Yes, CREATE CREATE CREATE! Keep on creating and never ever give up no matter what.
The definition of Art is this: Art is the Quality of Communication.
Make sure your art communicates something, whatever it is that you want it to communicate.
Lessons… yes, always get a 50% deposit on a commission before you begin and always get a written agreement signed. I made that mistake once and I still have the painting that I made and was never paid for.

My next photography exhibition is called “Buddhas & Monks”, photographs and video of the Dalai Lama and Tibetan Buddhist monks and is at The Way to Happiness Foundation at 201 E Broadway, Glendale CA 91204. The opening reception is on March 30th at 5pm. This exhibition benefits The Way to Happiness Foundation Intl who supports this precept; “Respect the Religious Beliefs of Others”.
