Today we’d like to introduce you to Maria Cozette.
Maria, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I’m an award-winning recording artist, songwriter, music producer, and tv host. In addition, I’m an MBA graduate with honors, CEO of a thriving marketing consultancy firm, and a university Professor. As you can see, I’m a multifaceted professional, and so was born the idea of my television show that premiere’s in the Spring of this year- The Maria Cozette Show.
I’ve been in the performing arts since the age of four, as a theatrical performer, ballerina, and singer. After high school, I began songwriting and released my first EP in 2005 “Special Delivery.” In 2010, I released my sophomore album “Born Ready,” which I wrote and produced in its entirety. The album helped gain a global fan base and rave reviews from multiple blogs and media outlets. In the same year, I created and hosted the first-ever English show to air on Armenian network, “Music Box with Maria Cozette.” The objective was to engage the youth in watching Armenian television since the complexity of the language was difficult to grasp for those born and raised in America. The show provided a platform for Armenian-American artists to promote their endeavors while conveying a positive message – a source of inspiration for our youth. Music Box went on to gain massive popularity in five years time. I ended the show to pursue a Master in Business Administration. After graduating, Thornbird Marketing, Inc. In 2017, I enrolled at the University of Southern California as a doctoral student in Organizational Change and Leadership.
This Spring, The Maria Cozette Show (MCS) will debut. The Show’s premise is to interview professionals of diverse backgrounds but rather than talk about their main line of work, we discuss an artistic talent, creative outlet, or extraordinary hobby. I have a very impressive list of guests. The Maria Cozette Show is where the left-brain meets the right so all the guests are professionals who exercise both hemispheres of the brain. Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It has not, nothing worthwhile is! Incidentally, this challenging road has inspired my dissertation research as a doctoral candidate of “Gender Inequity in Executive Leadership of Large Organizations.” I have found that it has certainly been more challenging to achieve greatness as a woman. This all the more as a pioneer of the first English show on Armenian TV or in anything innovative. I have had to work harder and prove myself time and again. Every milestone and accomplishment has been paired with hardship and countless struggles.
