Today we’d like to introduce you to Scott Greenwalt.
Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
I arrived on planet Earth in the year 1974. I receive transmissions from my dimension of origin at varied intervals. These transmissions are often garbled with other transmissions operating on similar frequencies. These signals are processed and interpreted through a matrix of psychotropic perspective enhancement mechanisms. Once processed, the messages are usually translated into visual artifacts, though sometimes the translations are purely audio in nature. The capture of these audio emissions has been of increasing urgency of late. There is also a project underway to create a simulated depiction of the dimension from which these transmissions originate.
Please tell us about your art.
The visual artifacts created by the being known as Scott Greenwalt are usually made of flexible plastic on cotton or wood. This hybridization of synthetic and natural materials is part of a larger mapping of inter-dimensional transmission translation. The translations are to be further translated by those viewing (or listening) into a new meaning specific to the individuals’ consciousness.
Choosing a creative or artistic path comes with many financial challenges. Any advice for those struggling to focus on their artwork due to financial concerns?
Keep things as simple as possible. Find a job that doesn’t compromise your personality, that you can make enough money to pay rent and buy food. If those things are covered, and you have a reasonable amount of time to make art, you have already made it halfway.
How or where can people see your work? How can people support your work?
I am currently working with SUPERCHIEF Gallery.
