Today we’d like to introduce you to Lorenzo Cipollo.
Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
I had always been interested in modeling growing up. When I was in my early 20’s, I had submitted for a few things and got rejected because I didn’t have a good body. This was before I worked out. So, I started working out then dieting. I had pushed modeling aside and didn’t pursue it anymore. Then one day one of my best friends won a model competition in Arizona and suggested i should go to this runway tryout. I was reluctant but decided to give it a shot. I made the runway show and started walking in a lot of runway shoes for Phoenix fashion week. It was all for free, but I knew it would give me experience and pay off one day. After doing countless runways, I then go into an agency in Arizona and get signed. After a year of working with them, my current manager Jeffery Ballard discovers me and gets me Signed to DT models in Hollywood. I then move to LA and have been here ever since modeling professionally.
We know modeling isn’t all glamour. Its a vocation and an creative/artistic one at times. We’d love to hear your thoughts.
My artwork is my body. I spend anywhere from 2-3 hours a day in the gym six days a week. I diet hardcore which involves weighing my food and tracking it in my food. I can only eat specific foods such as chicken, egg whites, brown rice, almond butter. I have to be photo ready 24/7 because I never know when a casting or photo shoot will come up. I love inspiring people through my hard work and dedication. I only cheat every 2-3 months, so it takes a lot of willpower and discipline to keep up with this lifestyle.
We often hear from artists that being an artist can be lonely. Any advice for those looking to connect with other artists?
There’s a quote that comes to mind. “If you’re going to try then go all the way. Otherwise don’t even start. Isolation is a gift. All the others is a test of your endurance.” When I told everyone I wanted to get a good body and start modeling, I received a lot of negative feedback especially coming from a small town. I ignored it, put my head down and worked. I had no idea of my hard work would pay off. All I could do is give it my all, block out the noise, and keep going. People will doubt you, but one day they’ll be saying they knew you. Reach out to others and try to work with them. See how you can help them, and you’ll learn so much from giving rather than always “wanting.”
