Meet Gaylin Munford of Jennifer Rose Events and Destinations

Today we’d like to introduce you to Gaylin Munford.

Gaylin, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I started making crafty items during college. I would sale them on holidays like Valentines Day and Mothers Day. From there I planned several weddings for family members. That’s how the wedding planning and decor started. I’ve recently adding Destination Planning because I was approached by two grids to plan weddings out of the country.

Has it been a smooth road?
No. The road had not been smooth. In this type of business, you rely heavily on word of mouth. Some months may be super busy while others may be slim. I had to learn how to network and to create opportunities for my self like self-producing events such as an annual Women’s Health Fair, retreats, and non-profit fundraisers.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Jennifer Rose Events and Destinations story. Tell us more about the business.
My company is a boutique event planning business that specializes and weddings, social events and destination Events. I am most proud of the fact that we work with clients that have various budgets. We customize our packages and are offer services based on the budget and need of the client. Out creativity, flexibility and great customer service sets us apart.

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
I see the industry definitely going towards quality vs quantity and towards destination affairs. Many clients opt for small intimidate affairs with the top of the line amenities as opposed to the large hall affairs of the past.
