Life & Work with Fiya Chick of Philadelphia

Today we’d like to introduce you to Fiya Chick.

Hi Fiya, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My name is Fiya (fire) I am an entrepreneur, Radio Host, Real estate investor, Promoter, content creator. Owner of Air it out radio and best known as The Queen of Internet Radio.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Yes of course. I dont think anyone that ever created a business would say it was a smooth ride, it’s always challenges, it’s a billion of them to say. You can write a book on it.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Short and sweet originally I started out as an artist. I did a little modeling and acting. There was this agency that I was connected to that supplied emails of different things that I may be interested in. In the email there was one about having your own radio show. I submitted to the email they were interested in the show that I created. The show stayed on for maybe six months to a year. They saw the progression. They wanted to lock me in for five years. I was still young, Still in and out of the Music industry so I declined. Things fizzled out and I created my own Radio station, which is now called Air It Out Radio.

We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
My favorite childhood memory was when my mom who was on drugs, took me to go shopping for Christmas. My grandmother raised me and not because my mom was on drugs. She did that later on after I chose to stay with my grandmother.. That’s a whole Nother story. This memory stays in my head so much because she said get whatever you want. And I remember loading that cart up with everything from a small organ, video games, clothes, stuffed animals, Barbie dolls, and more. At the end we got in line and my mom said is that all you want I said, yeah. I think the total was like $3000 or $4000. My mom wrote a check we loaded up the car and I didn’t know that my mom was writing a bad check. Later my mom went to jail for that and a part of me always feels a little bad, but that was like my happiness moment as a child. She didn’t care about anything. She knew it was wrong. She just wanted me to have my special day and boy was it special.
