Today we’d like to introduce you to Monica Bloom.
Hi Monica, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I’ve been teaching Ayurveda—the ancient science of health and longevity—for more than two decades. My work began with a simple desire to help people feel better using practical tools related to food, daily habits, mindset, and self-understanding. Long before wellness became mainstream, I was writing one of the earliest Ayurveda blogs, which eventually ranked near the top of Google and connected me with people around the world seeking a more natural and empowering approach to health.
Before becoming a full-time Ayurveda coach and entrepreneur, I spent decades in the corporate world, mostly in creative staffing, as a recruiter and then leader. That experience gave me a deep understanding of business, leadership, workplace dynamics, and the human side of performance. I saw firsthand how stress, burnout, and personal challenges affect not only individuals, but also teams and organizations. It also showed me how much people want to do meaningful work and feel supported while doing it.
Over the years, I’ve written books, created online courses, taught workshops, and worked with companies to help high-performing individuals reduce stress, prevent burnout, and create healthier, more sustainable lives. My approach has always been to make Ayurveda simple, modern, and accessible for busy people.
Like many people, my own life has included seasons of profound challenge. During that time, Ayurveda was not just something I taught—it became the foundation that helped me stay grounded and keep moving forward.
On January 8, 2025, my mom was having heart surgery. So I was in Wisconsin, sitting in a hospital waiting room and watching the Los Angeles wildfires on tv. Both of those things were an intense emotional jolt and I just said to myself, “I’m going to build a truck now. We all go through hard things. I can drive around and help people.”
I knew that long after the fires were out, and long after everyone forgot about this event in the media, people would still be carrying stress, grief, and trauma.
So the day after I got back to CA, I bought a van and used YouTube & Home Depot to build it. Neighbors pitched in too. The Blooming Space Van is a mobile wellness experience that brings breathwork, EFT tapping, aromatherapy, and practical stress-reduction tools directly to communities, workplaces, and recovery events.
Today, my work combines ancient wisdom with modern application. Through HeyMonicaB, I teach Ayurveda through books, courses, and online content. Through The Blooming Space, I offer in-person wellbeing and resiliency experiences and training.
At the heart of everything I do is a simple belief: no matter what you’ve been through, it is possible to rebuild your life from the inside out and make it better than it was before.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
As far as my life the past 3 years, it has been anything but smooth. It totally fell apart (or maybe it was falling together!?). I kind of lost everything…which led me to a place where on one hand I thought, “I have nothing else to LOSE! I might as well do whatever I want. Whatever I dream!” So I started working on a big project. But then the fires happened and while I didn’t lose a home, I lost a lot too. And I thought, “In 9-12 months they are not going to be okay. So, I have time. I am going to build something with my hands and heart — for them and for all of us that go through hard things. Because we all go through hard things.”
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I think I span all of the segments: business/practice, employee/professional, and artist/creative — all in one.
I’m a rare blend of business leadership, mindset and resiliency training, Ayurvedic teacher and healer, and artist/creative. My brain works on both sides, so I can analyze what is happening in a business from both a revenue and numbers perspective, as well as through the lens of the people involved.
My Ayurvedic training helps me identify potential future pitfalls in both the business and in employee mental wellbeing and performance. From there, I build programs to address what is not working (one company called me a “smoke jumper”) and teach people how to take care of themselves for the sake of business growth — and to avoid those pitfalls.
It is a blend of leader and employee wellbeing that ultimately results in company and revenue wellbeing! That is my sweet spot.
Apparently, I like problems and challenges. I enjoy getting in there, changing what needs to change, teaching it, inspiring it, and helping make it the best it can be.
Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
Books
* Atomic Habits
* Happy Pocket Full of Money
* The Spark and the Grind
* The Way We’re Working Isn’t Working
* The Buddha Walks Into a Bar
* The Four Agreements
Apps
* The Tapping Solution — I love their books and app, and I teach tapping in the van because of them. It really works and has helped me tremendously (and it works so fast!).
* Freedom — An app that blocks social media and other distracting websites for a set period of time, so I can focus on my work instead of doomscrolling for shoes, dogs, and anti-aging skincare…
