Meet Brandi Aguilar of Vilano Beach, FL

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brandi Aguilar.

Hi Brandi , thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I started modeling for Stein Mart when I was 10 years old and doing commercials and films and such. I then started voice acting about 12 years ago. Then went on from there! It’s been a very long journey. A lot of wins but also a lot of rejection. I recently made my off-off Broadway debut in New York City in the new play GUS AND ALICE as the role of Tiffany.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
No, I don’t think any actor’s journey is a smooth road unless they’re related to someone big in the industry. They have an easy in. The rest of us have to work twice as hard and rely on luck mostly.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I do everything! Acting for film, tv, commercials, voiceovers, theatre. I also produce and write because I’m crazy heh heh. I think I am proud of myself for just sticking with it and continue riding along and playing all different sorts of characters, from comedic to dramatic.

Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
I think you have to naturally be a risk taker to be in a creative career. Art is risky. Not everyone will see your vision. But I go on screen or on stage and do my best and hope people enjoy it, but if they don’t that’s okay too.
