Today we’d like to introduce you to Emily Owens.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Hello, my name is Emily Owens, but most people call me Lady E I moved here from Boston to start my life over after a bad breakup. It was the best decision I had ever made. Today I own 3 businesses: a for-profit, a non-profit, and a real estate investment business. My hard work has paid off, and it gives me the chance to encourage others to do the same. As an Inspirational Motivational Speaker, I am given the chance to be a guest speaker at churches, high schools, and podcast shows. And once a week, I produce inspiring reels across the media platform. Last but not least, I am working on my 1st memoir detailing stories of my life.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Life is never smooth, and it has not been one for me either. I faced lots of struggles as a child, from being homeless and abandoned to being rejected, misunderstood, and very confused. If it wasn’t from God’s grace, I don’t think I would be here today. This is why I love sharing my stories with others who may have come from a very difficult childhood. and had to grow up quickly. My story is very inspirational to so many, and I love each time I get to share it with others.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I have been in business for more than twenty years with the state of California, and have been an entrepreneur for more than forty years. I love being in business for myself. It gives me great joy to share the knowledge I have learned over the years. I remember what it was like being an employee, and I have always tried to make sure my employees know how much they are appreciated for their services. I believe that when you show your employees how important they are, it gives them a sense of pride knowing their contribution is needed here. I also believe in rewarding your employees financially. If you pay them a decent salary or hourly wage, it makes a difference, and you may not have so many turnovers in your company. I believe this is one of the ways I set myself apart from others.

What makes you happy?
What makes me happy is spending time with close friends and family, relaxing at home watching a good movie, or just hanging out in my backyard with the dogs. I am a simple person; I don’t need a lot to be happy because I believe happiness is a state of mind. I am very grateful for what I do have and the people I get to share my life with every day.
