Today we’d like to introduce you to Luis Gonzalez.
Hi Luis, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Had 18 years old had my full-time job I was recruited by the owner of a real estate company a husband and wife I was so excited because the gave me a car that said Million Dollar Club I believe I was going to be a millionaire. Lol!. I passed my license and I went to go quit my stable job to start real estate at the time there was no training zero mentorships I came to realize that people who are stable to buy homes do not generally buy from an 18 year old! I spent many years in and out of real estate to have food on the table and pay my bills as I couldn’t make it at the beginning in real estate until I understood however the state works. It’s based on your friends and people who know you who could afford to buy homes or who trust you enough to sell their homes. The journey is quite the journey to build that level of trust and professionalism. Over the years and after many failures is when life teaches us this lesson if we’re not quitting real estate and we stick long enough to survive.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Learning what real estate works and the building the level of trust for clients is very different than any other retail store or point of purchase. Buyers and sellers have to really trust on who they’re going to take so they can guide them towards their home selling or buying. This knowledge and skill and trust and honesty takes years to be able to communicate that with people so they can trust on you. Also the right tide and the economy has to be set forth. During the 2008 mortgage meltdown where the market imploded and lending was nearly non-existent homes fell 50% on value and buyers could not buy it was one of the most challenging times. And again During the covid period of the beginning of covid real estate dropped incredibly. Having to stay in the industry and not quitting. Finding other means to make a living is the hard truth of this industry unless you just come from a good nest egg that your family has left for you. In my case I had to do a lateral move open up a hair salon and hand beach with my wife to keep food on the table and paying our bills and this put us through the drought of the mortgage meltdown industry to be able to survive but not quitting in real estate. Still doing a few sales here and there and Loans whenever it was possible. That is the challenge to not quit and stay alive until the business is earned
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Sotheby’s International real estate and Cielo Cloud Inc?
I work for Sotheby’s International real estate where we sell homes and help put homes for sale in the market we do board meetings and close meetings to understand the market and help give information and wisdom to our clients so we can maintain a good market share and continue putting the brand and the brand gives back to us because we ultimately represent the brand and get paid. Also I own a corporation being a part of Cielo cloud is where the hair salon is for over 15 years the hair salon manages in Manhattan Beach the South Bay to help clients and keep relationships open accommodating and servicing their needs so they can have the proper relationship with us. Very important to be known in the community and our business it’s our lifeline
Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
Having the ability to listen and transparency of honesty being with people call me is a connector knowing how to connect someone with helping them accomplish their goal whatever their goal may be I’m there for them so they could accomplish what they’re set out to do even if it does not involve me but my foremost best attitude forward is to always help and guide them in any matter of life not just necessarily real estate. My friends and family and clients really appreciate that and build the level of trust and transparency and honesty which then and only then people can engage closer to make it a major life decision such as buying or selling a home with somebody they know and trust has their best interest at hand. If anything that is the foundation of My Success in real estate
Pricing:
- I do not really understand the question. Pricing is not whether the price is the price but it’s really asking if it’s the services is worth the amount of money being asked.
- Pricing is set by the market and being at market price is what people seem to react to depending on the product that the client feels it has the value
- . I really don’t understand these questions we can talk more about these
