Today we’d like to introduce you to Gary J. Cole.
Hi Gary J., so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Hello, my name is Gary J. Cole and I’m a meditation and energy practitioner born and raised in Los Angeles. I’ve always been fascinated with individuals process in life. What routines will bring you happiness, love and luck.
Born from two parents born and raised in South Central LA involved in criminal activity I was forced to be adopted by my grandparents at a couple of days old.
Growing up my Grandfather, who I acknowledge as my father, would drive me to South Central LA everyday after school until I was in 8th grade from the valley for work. As I got older I started to notice how things changed as we drove south into LA. I started to notice how people’s lives and behavior were different from where we were living and started having me ask questions about life and how it plays out.
Around 31 after working multiple jobs tv production, correctional officer, working with children with autism and behavioral issues, etc I started to get interested in healing my generational trauma. I needed to calm my nervous system I use to be an overthinker, stressed and try to control everything and then something sparked my mind to start learning about Meditation and manifesting. With the intention of healing myself I started to have physical sensations in my body and started reaching deeper levels of meditative states.
Once I started to share my personal experiences with more like minded individuals who been meditating longer than I have I started to notice I was experiencing something not everyone was but talking about it as if everyone had. As people got curious I started helping others with meditation but was getting great feedback on how it was impacting their lives. Some had pain go away, others would express releasing trauma of feelings their were holding onto and some just needed to quiet their mind. I’ve helped cancer patients, individuals with addictions, chronic pain , stress and anxiety.
This is something I wasn’t looking for but found me.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, it has been a smooth road. When I started this journey all my friends, family, parents thought I was crazy. I’m having these experiences trying to explain what I’m going through and everyone looking at me like what are you talking about. Most people close to me at that time saw me as protective type more than healing. Even today my look doesn’t really express what I do. But the highest version of yourself is your authentic self and once I owned that I started aligning with the people I’m supposed to.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I specialize in 1:1 and group meditation/energy healing sessions. During my sessions there’s usually an intention or focus going into the session. During meditations most ppl have hard time quieting the mind from running thoughts. I put clients through guided imagery or a body scan meditation allowing them to fall into a deep meditative state to release what’s not serving them to program what’s needed.
In an energy healing session it’s more me doing the work, scanning the body for what I feel physically and intuitively. Being that a lot of ppl do this work I really started pushing forward and trusting my abilities after the feedback I received from ppl in this field. I’ve heard multiple “I’ve never experienced something like this before”.
What I’m most proud of is my self. This calling in my life hasn’t been easy and I haven’t quit. I can’t quit, I’ve seen miracles in my sessions. Energy is real and we can all benefit from regulating our nervous system to manifest the things we want. I’m proud of knowing I bring something unique to this world and I will teach others of all walks they can meditate too.
What matters most to you?
What matters most to me is mental peace. Your thoughts are everything, what you feel dictates what you are. When you can be kind to yourself you can be kind to others. Mental peace allows you to think clear and make the best decisions for the best outcome. Mental peace allows you to see the doors that are opening for you and not the ones closing.
