Exploring Life & Business with Rachel Ramirez of Bloom & Flourish

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rachel Ramirez.

Hi Rachel, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Ever since I was a child, I’ve adored flowers. I was known to go around my neighborhood with my doll stroller loaded up with lemons and picked flowers to sell for a nickel (sorry neighbors!). Inspired by my mother’s yard and botanical gardens around the world, I’ve always been drawn to natural beauty.

So when friends started asking for my help with event and wedding florals, it was really a dream come true.

But just loving flowers wasn’t enough. My affinity for spreadsheets and organization were handy when it came to ensuring successful projects. Couple all of that with my love of serving people, and I found my calling! I started Bloom & Flourish.

Through connecting with clients, I strive to build meaningful connections, making every interaction as beautiful and memorable as the arrangements I create.

My philosophy on life is that there is always something to be grateful for and always something to learn from our experiences. We are created not just to bloom, but to flourish – making a difference in the world around us.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It hasn’t always been smooth! I was ready to give up a couple years ago when work just wasn’t coming my way. But I said a prayer and decided to send *one last email* and within a couple hours, I had received a response from a venue wanting to book me for a flower cart! That led to many Bloom Bar workshops, weddings, and other events.

We’ve been impressed with Bloom & Flourish, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I’m so grateful for the opportunity to serve people in my community. It’s more than a job for me – it’s a chance to serve. Whether it is helping a couple plan their wedding florals, creating something beautiful to celebrate a life, or doing a workshop at a memory care facility – I am fully dedicated to bringing beauty and joy to every one of my clients.

There are so many options out there for florists, but I see myself less as a vendor and more as a partner and friend.

Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
Something that people might not know about me is that I’m also an avid vegetable gardener and raise my own eggs, but I’m not great at growing flowers myself. I leave that to the professionals!
